We have selected for you some of the best Argentine wines to pair with our Empanadas. We met with several wineries, with many winemakers and even with some chefs before choosing the wines that you will see below. Each one of these wines has a story that makes it special, each one wants to be a way of meeting, through the palate and together with the Empanadas, different regions of Argentina.

Malbec from Mendoza. Mendoza is the land of Malbec worldwide and over 85% of the Argentine Malbec is produced here. Messi, Maradona, Malbec and the mind immediately runs to our beloved country.
Winery: Manos Negras. Origin: Mendoza (Cuyo). Grad. 13.9%. A Malbec that from the hand of the oenologist Alejando Sejanovich wants to express in this wine the stony soil of the Manos Negras vineyards in Paraje Altamira, a soil that allows to produce grapes of an exceptional concentration. An intense Malbec with non-aggressive tannins, and that marked minerality that is the result of being able to bring the soil of this area of Mendoza from the vine to the bottle. Manos Negras is one of the wineries to keep an eye on as in recent years they have been producing spectacular wines that have not gone unnoticed.

Winery: Catena Zapata. Origin: Mendoza (Cuyo). Grad. 13.5%. The Catena wines are the result of special cuts of different vineyards of the Catena family, made by Laura Catena, fourth generation of winemakers, and Alejandro Vigil, chief enologist of Catena Zapata and one of the most talented winemakers of the world. Although Catena wines can be consumed right away, they have been shown to have a wonderful aging potential of between ten and twenty years. After several decades of study and research on the different high altitude microclimates of Mendoza, the Catena family has identified the best areas for planting the family's vineyards. This wine, made from these historic vineyards (Lunlunta; El Cepillo, Eugenio Bustos; Gualtallary), is a Malbec with a unique character, excellent typicality, balance and concentration. We highly recommend it with our not spicy Argentine Empanadas of Angus but also to accompany a veal-based dinner or for a barbecue with friends who appreciate a quality wine.

Winery: Enemigo Wines. Origin: Mendoza (Valle de Uco). Grad. 14%. From the genius of Ale Vigil and Adrianna Catena comes El Enemigo, a Malbec with a long and elegant finish, rich and concentrated on the nose and full-bodied on the palate. This Malbec has the particularity of being "cut" with very small percentages of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, something that will make it unique. Although this Malbec can accompany most of our empanadas, we invite you to enjoy it in a dinner of roast venison, wild boar or in an "asado" with friends who appreciate a special wine like this.

Winery: Catena Zapata. Provenance: Parcella Mundus Bacillus Terrae, Adrianna Vineyard located in Gualtallary, Tupungato Alto, Valle de Uco, Mendoza (Cuyo). Grad. 14%. This is probably one of the best if not the best Malbec that Mendoza has to offer. The Adrianna vineyard, located at an altitude of 1390 meters above sea level, bears the name of the youngest daughter of Nicolás Catena Zapata. The soils of this plot are composed of calcium carbonate and marine fossils that covered the region millions of years ago. The limestone layers provide good drainage and are rich in rhizobacteria, the microorganisms that help the vine root resist stress and absorb nutrients. Hence the term "mundus bacillus terrae" or "elegant microbes of the earth". A wine with aromatic hints of blackberries, smoky touches and salty memories. On the palate it is markedly mineral and of great tension. The tannins are abundant and this wine has an aging potential that well exceeds 20 years. This vintage is characterized by greater freshness and lower yields due to the El Niño meteorological phenomenon, which caused a lower production. Less than 3,000 of these bottles remain in the world.

Argentine wine is not only Mendoza, the excellence of our wines extends from south to north and here we offer you some labels that you will not want to miss in your evenings.
Winery: Bodega Malma. Origin: Patagonia (Neuquen). Grad. 14%. The harsh climate of Patagonia is not always a bad thing as it means that the yield of the vine is low and health is extraordinary. This Malbec presents itself to the nose with a set of ripe red fruits and cherries. On the palate you can appreciate summer fruits, gentle tannins that provide a deep and velvety finish. But the reality is that there is much more behind this wine, there is a family (the Viola) who have decided to go back to their origins and bring Patagonian wines to the world. You don’t want to miss this incredible wine.

A wine with an aging potential of ten years in the bottle, a wine that experts believe should be decanted an hour before tasting, a Malbec elaborated by the prestigious oenologist Hans Vinding-Diers. This wine expressed Patagonia in a wonderful way, no doubt super recommendable even beyond our very good empanadas. For some it is the best malbec on the market in terms of quality-price ratio.
